Lt. Col. John R. Heron, Durham Light Infantry

My party of Veterans thoroughly enjoyed the InterOpera evening. For some it was their first experience of 'live' opera.  For all it was a very moving experience. Even our old boys had tears running down their faces in some parts of the programme.
I am extremely grateful that we were allowed to take part, and we will remember it for the rest of our lives.

Opera_Gold.pngA sumptuous evening of world-class music.

In July 2012, InterOpera presented a completely new programme of classical arias, overtures and opera choruses, with Penelope Randall-Davis, James Edwards, Austin Gunn and Roderick Earle, accompanied by the NASUWT Riverside Band, under the baton of InterOpera music director Alistair Dawes.

The programme was presented at The Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle, Middlesbrough Town Hall and The Empire Threatre, Consett.
